"Abbe's Sanctuary for Women has helped me tremendously. I have tried to stay clean and sober in various other rehabs, transitional living houses, and sober living environments. But none have proven to be as outstanding and recovery-oriented as Abbe's Sanctuary has. I have learned so much about myself and recovery here at this house. I have learned to not only live life clean and sober, but I have learned to also have fun in recovery. I have been shown what true, unconditional love is here and I can truly call this place my "home" now. I have lived here almost 11 months now, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. I believe God put me here at Abbe's Sanctuary for a reason and it is truly the best place I could ever be. Through living at Abbe's Sanctuary, I have established a good amount of time clean and sober, I have found employment, I have formed great recovery friends and resources, I have been to a varitey of wonderful recovery meetings and I have learned how to live life clean and sober and have fun. I have also established a healthy relationship with my parents and family and I have learned to become a better daughter, sister, and friend. I couldn't have done any of this without the help of Abbe's Sanctuary, the director (Laurie) and the management. I honestly feel that this was the best place I ever could have gone and I truly don't think I would be clean and sober if it wasn't for this house and the women in it. I have made some real, true lifelong friends here that I consider sisters and here at Abbe's Sanctuary, I have another family."

"Abbe's Sanctuary has helped me in many ways, I have learned how to cope with my problems without using. I've learned to use the tools I've learned to live everyday life, the knowledge to stay sober and still deal with everyday problems. I've also learned how to get along with other women and I have learned to set goals for myself and then take the necessary steps to achieve those goals. Living at Abbe's Sanctuary has been a wonderful experience for me, it has given me many opportunities to build my self-esteem and grow and mature as a woman in recovery. The director, Laurie, has helped me in so many ways to not give up and keep on working hard to stay clean and sober and achieve my goals. I am eternally grateful to this house and everyone in it and I don't think I would have been able to get or stay sober without the help of this house."

"I have been struggling with drugs and alcohol for 15 years and it had been suggested that a halfway house would be beneficial to my recovery. I feared the unknown and unexpected. Moving into a house with a bunch of women, rules, and change terrified me. However, that saying, "If nothing changes, nothing changes." My family and I were ready for a change. I took the leap of faith and moved in. What I didn't expect was a beautiful transformation into what God truly wanted for me. Everyday this place is a working miracle. A miracle mentally, physically, finacially, and most importantly spiritually. It had been a long time since I had true friends that I can smile, laugh, and cry with. I am not alone anymore. The support and love is unconditional. From wall to wall our home is filled with hope, faith, and encouragement. Everyday my insecurities dissipate. Everyday my heart grows warmer. The shattered life I once had is being put back together one piece at a time. It's amazing to watch the promises unfold. Abbe's Sanctuary is truly and whole-heartedly my sanctuary."
